Hey there! Today, I want to share a bit about my journey as a musician and how I’ve found a new way to organize my songs and chords using Obsidian Chord Sheets.

Obsidian is already the center of my personal knowledge and a key component of my workflow. It’s where I store my thoughts, ideas, and plans for the future. So when I discovered Obsidian Chord Sheets, it felt like a natural extension of what I was already doing.

Back in my college days, I used to perform at local bars and cafes. Every musician knows the struggle of building up a solid setlist, a collection of songs that you can pull out at any gig. For me, it was a mix of covers and original tunes, each one carefully chosen to connect with the audience.

One thing that always helped me out was the Ultimate Guitar Tabs app. With its huge library of songs and the option to transpose chords, it became my go-to companion. I mean, who doesn’t love being able to adjust the key of a song to fit your voice? 😅

But here’s the thing: a lot of these features offered by Ultimate Guitar Tabs were locked behind a subscription, and subscriptions can add up. That’s where Obsidian Chord Sheets came in.

This plugin is like having Ultimate Guitar Tabs right in my Obsidian vault. I can store all my chord sheets, lyrics, and song ideas in one place, organized exactly how I like it. I can also transpose songs up and down with just a click and have the convenience of “auto-scroll” when my hands are busy strumming the guitar. Plus, it supports multiple instruments, so whether I’m strumming a guitar or plucking a ukulele, I’m covered.

One of my favorite features is the automatic chord diagram rendering. As I write down the chords for a song, the plugin instantly shows me how to play them, which is super helpful, especially for me, a decent guitarist who is trying my hand at learning how to play the Ukulele.

And the best part? It’s completely customizable. I can hide certain elements, adjust the chord diagram size, and tailor many other things to fit my preferences. It’s like having my own personalized chord sheet editor.

Overall, Obsidian Chord Sheets has been a game-changer for me. Not only does it save me money on subscriptions, but it also simplifies my songwriting process and helps me stay organized. Whether I’m jotting down ideas for a new song or practicing an old favorite.

I just love the idea of saving the chords and tabs of my favorite songs in my Obsidian Vault. 💜
